The IBD Legacy
In the forty-two years since the establishment of the Institute over four-hundred and fifty students have graduated and are working in Tibetan society in various capacities, such as doctors of Buddhist philosophy (Geshe), research scholars, lecturers, teachers, principals, translators, and government officials. Among the foreign students who have graduated, several have attained full academic positions in foreign countries, and among those who were monks a number have gone on to become abbots. All of these hardworking, disciplined and skillful graduates represent the Institute’s greatest accomplishment.
